Though I’ve always loved writing, I often hesitate to call myself a writer. Have I written enough? Published enough? Do I even know what I’m doing?
L
In this workshop, Dana reminded us that writing has little to do with recipes or rules – what’s more crucial is learning to speak your truth. I ended up composing a three-part poem about the last girl on Earth and her surreal
gift-exchange with aliens, and honestly, it turned out to be funnier than I thought I could write.
For once, I let myself embrace the chaos. I’ve never been a fan of writing by hand – my thoughts rarely arrive in full sentences, and the page quickly ends up a mess. But during this workshop, I started to see that mess differently
– simply as part of my way of building text, a kind of scaffolding. When much of our writing is polished and digital, it felt so wonderful to sit with the physical traces of thinking: scribbles, false starts, arrows, breaks.
A reminder of the messy history of our word-making.

what TRIE offerS
Engaging in projects…
TRIE projects that are ongoing are open to all interested persons. The projects are centered in the country of Luxembourg, and so it is appropriate that interested participants either live in Luxembourg or are close enough in surrounding countries to participate.

The JOYN Project: A Marriage made in Mega-Heaven
The new performance is looking for local professionals, including three English speaking actors who are trained to work with verse, voice actors and breath core participants, as well as – potentially – singers, a composer and musicians

The HEIMWEE Project
People who feel they are living far from home, as foreigners in a strange land, are invited to join once-a-month writing workshops where the group writes out various aspects of the pain they experience as a result of the alienation they feel

Street theatre
In association with Amnesty International Luxembourg, we are seeking 2 additional actors (male or female) to join the group developing a play on how global warming negatively affects human rights.
